ABOUT KOTONO

An Interior Design graduate from the Tokyo Design Academy, Kotono Nanase worked at an architecture firm before moving on to a design firm. In 1999 she worked on her first illustration job for a women’s fashion magazine and in 2005 she became one of the finalists for CWC’s Chance Exhibition. This led to her becoming a part of the CWC agency roster. All of her work is done by hand using acrylics and water colors. While fashionable women are a central theme in Kotono’s work, she will slip into curious accessories, plants and patterns from time to time. Her commercials are inspired by fashion, cosmetics, women, magazines, advertisements and monographs.
